This is a recent perfume release from the design house of the same name. It also competes with another perfume that had a similar name. However since both come from the same house then there should not be a problem in acknowledging it. The first came out in 1990 and those people of a certain age will remember it very well and the kind of vibes that it put onto the market. Some people are not particularly pleased that the perfumes have the potential to confuse the general public. However all in all we have a good product on our hands.
The Brand
The brand is not particularly hyped up but it has been going strong for some time now. On this occasion they used the genius of Pierre Bourdon to make their creation. It seems that they have firmly implanted themselves on the perfume market and will not let go so easily. This is a good thing because it brings in variety.
The Fragrance
The notes include bergamot, black currant, leafy greens, cucumber, lemon, sea breeze accord, freesia, honeydew, magnolia, jasmine, muguet, rose, orange blossom, peony, amber, musk, nectarine, vanilla, orris, patchouli and sandalwood. This is quite some scent list and one has to say that it has not quite pulled off the simple style. It is a complex and deep perfume. Some people with sensitive noses might think that it might have been a good idea to take out some of the notes.
The Packaging
There is a very lovely lady on the top but the star of the show is the green bottle. This is really an excellent packaging mix. It immediately gives you the impression of being in a smart and cool face. It is not often that a perfume is able to elicit this response in an instant and they have to be congratulated on their work.
General Customer Feedback
Some customers were very complementary of its freshness but others wanted something more earthy or indulgent. All in all there was very little ill to say about the fragrance which is likely to be a commercial success.

This perfume was launched in 1911 and has suffered some hard times in terms of popularity. It is now making resurgence on the circuit and it still has the power to amaze in the right circumstances. I think it is a great idea to revive some of those classic perfumes of our childhood because they just show us how much the new generation has to do in order to catch up.
The Brand
The Crown Perfumery came into existence around 1872. They had a runaway success but in due course the orders reduced and the company was tittering on the edge of financial ruin. A good Samaritan in the form of Clive Christian came along in order to revive its fortunes. Unfortunately for the brand, the savior turned out to be short lived and eventually closed the brand. However many people are looking back to the perfume with some nostalgia.
The Fragrance
Quite unusually the perfume opens up with heliotrope which then develops into amber and musk. There then follows a competition between citrus, bergamot and vanilla. The vanilla actually ends up with the goods because the final impression that you get is very similar to the one that you get in a cake shop. By this I am referring to a good quality cake shop for good measure.
The Packaging
The bottle is almost like crushed marble that has hints of a silvery pearl. The effect is definitely of its time and I am not sure that this kind of packaging will appeal to all modern tastes. However I must say that the overall look is generally classic and elegant so I cannot really knock the perfume. In any case, the fragrance more than makes up for any doubts about the packaging.
General Customer Feedback
Many customers were rather confused as to whether it was a male perfume or a lady’s perfume. The marketing indicated that it was a gentleman’s perfume but on closer inspection the fragrances have feminine hints. I would therefore put it in the unisex category if it was up to me. What is not in question is that this is a great perfume that deserves a second look.

This is a reworking of a vintage Givenchy perfume and the 2007 has been quite a success. Some would be so bold as to suggest that the new version is better than the old. It is a feminine and sunny perfume that has some floral overtones to bring out the essence of a modern woman. The Givenchy elegance is there to see but somehow this perfumes manages to add an extra dimension of humanity which I find touching to say the least.
The Brand
Givenchy has been with us like forever and they keep churning out these gorgeous perfumes that would put anyone else to shame. The beauty of the brand is that they have found a winning formula and stuck to it. I am normally anti revivals but this particular revival has shown off Givenchy at its best. In this project the fashion houses has been helped by the famous duo of Jean Guichard and Olivier Gillotin . They got the old formula and added a strawberry note. The result has been spectacular and has probably exceeded all expectations.
The Fragrance
The fragrance is simple when compared to the magnificence of the final product. It starts off with galbanum, pepper and clove. We then move to the principle flavor strawberry that gives way to aldehydes, rose, jasmine and jonquil. The floral theme continues with violet but then we take a more masculine turn with sandalwood, amber and musk, The perfume is developed by benzoin, iris, patchouli and vetiver. The closing notes are frankincense and tonka bean. On a normal scale this might appear to be a complicated list but bearing in mind the quality of the outcome, I am not complaining.
The Packaging
A really interesting bottle and the perfume itself is made up of a peachy lemony hue which I find absolutely appealing. The bottle has a snowy exterior but clear enough so that you can see what is inside. The silver top is neither here nor there but the purple label is somehow out of place. However I think this is perfectly acceptable packaging for the perfume of its caliber.
General Customer Feedback
The customers loved the perfume to the extent that may of them were saying that it was better than the old version. There was one small complaint that the label tends to appear as if it is going to fall off but no one worried about the value of the fragrance.
