Field of Flowers by Philosophy

Field of Flowers by Philosophy

The name says it all. This is an ultra flowery perfume by the relatively new brand of Philosophy. They specialize in creating fragrances and accessories for the feminine lady. This is one of their very latest perfumes and I believe that it is in the long line of future product lines that will try to link ladies to the flowers. This kind of overly floral tribute is not to everyone’s taste but for those who like the theme; this can be something of a godsend.

The Brand

The brand is not well known. This can be both a positive and negative thing. Some of the more powerful brand such as Givenchy gives each of their perfumes a certain aura that may even compensate for the individual weaknesses of the perfume. This type of cross pollination of brand reputation is the mainstay of their advertising. In this instance I like the fact that the perfume is confident enough to stand on its own merits without the explicit endorsement of a minor celebrity.

The Fragrance

The overall theme of the perfume is floral with a heavy hint of peony. Those who take an interest in flowers will also notice that there is an almost garden like fragrance to the whole package. I have to say that the flower thing has been done to death and it might cloud some of the potential customers’ views to notice that yet another flowery perfume has been put on the market. However the field of flowers still manages to retain its individuality.

The Packaging

The packaging is just some flowery feminine sort of thing. I find the myriad of flowers slightly off putting. We know that it is a flower based perfume and there is no need to literally rub our noses in it. The riot of colors looks like something unpleasant out of the eighties and the overall feeling is not one of inspiration but one of quiet confidence. If you are into that sort of thing then by all means go for the field of flowers. If you are looking for a fiery perfume, then you are in the wrong place.

General Customer Feedback

Many customers commented on the floral nature of the perfume and some thought that it might put them off buying the perfume in the first place. They seemed to think that the perfume was a generally trusted one although there was no great enthusiasm. I think that generally this is a good perfume that can make an impact in certain areas

Versace Bright Chrystal Perfume

Versace Bright Crystal Perfume

The master of high end fashion speaks with yet another masterpiece of ladies perfumes. This is a rather floral but very elegant perfume that is specifically targeted towards young inspirational types. A fashion statement that truly reflects the luxury of Versace, it is a perfume that is more than equal to its name.

The Brand

Versace is all about high end fashion and dressed to kill looks. The chavs have created a sort of dampener on it but it is still one of the more sophisticated fashion brands available. The perfume hacks back to the old days of the true elegant ladies of the forties and fifties yet it can appeal to the young generation with its promise of greatness.

The Fragrance

The top notes are said to contain pomegranate, yuzu and accord. This is a very fruity and soothing combination of scents. The middle notes are magnolia, lotus and peony which are neither here nor there. The base comes down with amber, musk and mahogany which are rather masculine smells. I suppose it is a good thing to balance out the femininity with a touch of macho hints. I only hope it doesn’t end in a muddle.

The Packaging

I am afraid I am not a fan of the packaging. The rose tints are nothing to write home about and the fussy top with its flowery embellishments is just irritating. However I am sure that if placed on side table, the brand will do the rest. Much as I do not particularly like the packaging, I believe that the perfume is such a success that all will be forgiven

General Customer Feedback

All the reviews that I read were written by women and they were universally complimentary about the great fragrance but also the staying power of the perfume. It is amazing that people who would go for such luxury end up talking about practicability. I did not get the feedback of the gentlemen but given the structure of the perfume, I am sure they would be more than complementary.
