Givenchy for the ones in the know
I don’t consider myself to be particularly pretentious but somehow when I wear Givenchy I feel as if I am turning my nose up at the rest of the public. This is not a very Christian feeling but I know that some people like that kind of vibe with their perfume. I know this is going to sound absolutely crazy, but I have never felt better at being pretentious than when I am wearing Givenchy.
For whatever reason, I always associated the word with France and French culture. We all know the principal place that France holds in terms of sophisticated culture. Well Givenchy takes me back to Paris and the French artistic life. I don’t know whether any of you has ever used Givenchy and felt a similar way.
I particularly like the dark brown color almost like an over matured spirit. People keeping talking about Gold but Givenchy absolutely epitomizes for that precious metal which is at the heart of being wealthy and in some cases sophisticated. Normally the Gold color tends to remind me of tacky gold taps but in this case it somehow imbues sophisticated elegance.
At first glance one might think that Givenchy is a lady’s fragrance. That is true to an extent but they also have a wonderful male collection. I fell on the scent my mistake. I was staying with someone when they decided to treat me by buying me a toilet set which included various soaps, creams and perfumes. That is the first time I took notice of the perfume and it regularly features in my wardrobe.
I have not yet seen a celebrity advertising Givenchy but if I were them I would definitely give it a go. It is one of those lovely perfumes which you can use for various occasions and yet give off the impression that the perfume was made for you.
The pricing for Givenchy is neither here nor there. Some people might consider it too expensive but I have not seen any real evidence to back up that accusation. For me it is priced at just about the right place given its reputation and the pricing of other similar perfumes.
