This is a feminine perfume by the famous Christian Dior. I do not need to tell you about THAT advert. It has to be one of my favorites of all time. I happen to think that the advert is a fair reflection for a perfume that is clearly meant for a woman in her prime. It just oozes sexual tension and accomplishment.
The Brand
Christian Dior is about classics. The fragrances can be a bit complicated at times but so is life so I am more than happy to forgive him that minor misdemeanor. J’Adore reflects this tradition in the sense that it talks of a love but the not just any love. It is the love of a very sexy woman. It evokes a sexy woman who is not loose but just confident in her body and her relationships.
The Fragrance
One of my friends used to wear J’Adore but I did not realize it until recently. I kept asking her what she was wearing and she was telling to guess. When I went to see her I saw the bottle and we had a laugh about it. The fragrance is rosy and fuel of erotic depth. It is almost as if you smell thick flowers that weave in and out of your presence with the promise of things to come.
The History
Christian Dior opened his fashion house in 1947 at the age of thirty and he is still going strong. The ethos was to bring an air of Parisian elegance to the modern woman. Now that we look back forty or so years, we can see how wonderful that tradition has been. We now look for memories of those great days. Bye and large, Christian Dior has succeeded in translating his vision into a modern world.
The Packaging
I absolutely love the packaging on J’Adore. The lilac green hues that run from the package to the bottle just remind me of a feminine woman. It can look clean cut on the bedside table but still evoke the memories of hidden eroticism.
General Customer Feedback
The celebrity factor plays a big role in the customer feedback but there is quite a bit of positive vibe on the web which makes me believe that this is in fact a rather special perfume. So if you feel special and sexy, why not try J’Adore? You never know, you might love it!!

This is one of those Ralph Lauren Brands that has been around for quite some time but you have just got the opportunity to review it. It is intended for the male audience and is to be found primarily in perfume shops but also in duty free shops at the airport. However is widely available in supermarkets and other outlets which sell men’s perfumes and accessories. It can also be bought as an aftershave. Generally a good product that can work for both teenagers and adults
The Brand
The brand comes from Ralph Lauren which was a response to the campy outfits in the 1980s. Rather than being campy, it is a strong masculine fragrance that oozes confidence and sophistication. If you wish to rebel against the metrosexual, then this is the perfume for you.
The Fragrance
Quite strangely enough the perfume manages to smell rosy yet it is definitely a macho concept which is supposed to imbue a certain sense of gravity to the occasion. It is a pleasant enough smell but some people have reported that it can give them a headache due to the pungent tones that one usually associates with Ralph Lauren perfumes.
The History
Having successfully challenged the 1980s fashion disasters, Ralph Lauren managed to evolve into the nineties where he was part of the avant garde movement which held sway during this time. The polo green continued with their brand promotion until they are now the establishment and anyone else becomes an outsider.
The Packaging
The packaging is rather elegant. The green theme is carried from the external casing to the color of the bottle which makes a nice match up. It can sometimes give the impression of being a bottle of medicine but all those impressions are quickly wiped away by the presence of the magnificent fumes.
General Customer Feedback
The perfume has a very positive feedback for the perfume from most customers. Even those who did not like the green theme were appreciative of the fragrance when they had a chance to smell it. All in all it is a great product and I would not hesitate to include it in my shopping bag.

I don’t consider myself to be particularly pretentious but somehow when I wear Givenchy I feel as if I am turning my nose up at the rest of the public. This is not a very Christian feeling but I know that some people like that kind of vibe with their perfume. I know this is going to sound absolutely crazy, but I have never felt better at being pretentious than when I am wearing Givenchy.
For whatever reason, I always associated the word with France and French culture. We all know the principal place that France holds in terms of sophisticated culture. Well Givenchy takes me back to Paris and the French artistic life. I don’t know whether any of you has ever used Givenchy and felt a similar way.
I particularly like the dark brown color almost like an over matured spirit. People keeping talking about Gold but Givenchy absolutely epitomizes for that precious metal which is at the heart of being wealthy and in some cases sophisticated. Normally the Gold color tends to remind me of tacky gold taps but in this case it somehow imbues sophisticated elegance.
At first glance one might think that Givenchy is a lady’s fragrance. That is true to an extent but they also have a wonderful male collection. I fell on the scent my mistake. I was staying with someone when they decided to treat me by buying me a toilet set which included various soaps, creams and perfumes. That is the first time I took notice of the perfume and it regularly features in my wardrobe.
I have not yet seen a celebrity advertising Givenchy but if I were them I would definitely give it a go. It is one of those lovely perfumes which you can use for various occasions and yet give off the impression that the perfume was made for you.
The pricing for Givenchy is neither here nor there. Some people might consider it too expensive but I have not seen any real evidence to back up that accusation. For me it is priced at just about the right place given its reputation and the pricing of other similar perfumes.

I do not know why but it seems that teenagers are enamored of the scent of diesel. Even while I was a teenager myself, it used to be my favorite perfume. Whether that decision was justified is another matter but for me I would always go for diesel when I was asked what I wanted for Christmas. I must admit that the packaging is somewhat clinical and sterile but perhaps that is what teenagers want. They want no frills but a perfume that is effective and can last on the body for a long time.
Teenagers face some problems with personal grooming which are to do with unpleasant smells. Of course bathing regularly does help but even then you will need a little something to get you going and prevent you from losing dates due to body odor. For me diesel always works for such occasions. It has a tingling sensation that leaves you immediately fresh the moment you spray it.
The smell of diesel is hard to pin down but personally it tended to remind me of citrus fruits for some reason. It also reminded me of smoking cigars. Now I know that many teenagers like to smoke a good cigar but I was one of those exceptions who hated cigars. However I liked the smell especially if it was in its dying phases. Diesel provides this scent in quiet sophisticated tones.
Now I don’t know the full spending habits of teenagers today but at the time, diesel fitted my profile to a tee. I could buy all my toiletries and include diesel without the slightest pressure on my meager budget. I had the multiple product syndromes where I would buy plenty of different products with the diesel scents such that I could switch from one to the other with relative ease.
I do not wish to put off adults who want to use diesel. It is a perfectly acceptable scent for anyone and I was merely pointing out my own youthful experiences. It might be that you have had a much better experience with the perfume as you have grown older. That is fine as well.

My absolute favorite perfume has to be Lacoste. In fact it is so good that I even bought their branded watch. Lacoste is the ultimate in luxury items I believe. The scent is a mixture of the light and the cold and the musky. Any man would want t have Lacoste because it combines the soft with the hard, the gentle with the powerful. Whenever I think if Lacoste I think of power and stamina. I know that sounds quite ridiculous but it is my favorite perfume after all.
It is weird how a perfume can get a life of its own such that you even begin thinking about it as if it were your won relative. Whenever I go to the shops and see the familiar clear bottle I immediately smile knowing that an old friend is there waiting for me. Lacoste then ceases to be a scent and becomes a powerful friend who can lift my mood when it is going down.
The associations I have with Lacoste are quite interesting. I used to wear it to the office and kept getting compliments from the other members of staff. This sometimes made me wonder whether the perfume maker had some magic ingredient that made me drawn to this interesting perfume.
If they have a chemical that makes a perfume so attractive then I want some of that chemical because Lacoste has an almost hypnotic effect on me. Not that I am complaining. I am happy to be hypnotized by the scent any time they want. I think it is a brilliant scent, the best ever if I was to be totally honest. If I was going to on a dessert Island and was asked which fragrance I would take, Lacoste would win hands down.
Although the prices are somewhat greater than you would normally expect, I think it is worth taking the risk to get a good product that you can rely on and that gives you confidence to go out in the public. I say Lacoste all the way. I am not sure whether they make a brand for women but I am certain that on the male side, you will struggle to find a far superior perfume.

I used to go for this perfume in my college days when I felt that I had to look and fell professional particularly if I was attending an interview or going for a conference. It is my official perfume if you like. It has a musky smell that reminds one of masculinity. I particularly like the clean cut image that the packing does. There is a little cloth attachment thing on its bottle which softens the rather business like look. I also find the prices to be fairly appealing. When I got involved in perfumes, I decided to look at the actual detail of the perfumes to see whether there was something I could learn about my tastes.
The top notes are apparently bergamot and violet leaves with a hint of basil. This is rather surprising because I would not have thought that basil was a scent you would want as a perfume. It tends to remind me of Italian food. I suppose the violet and bergamot is there to counteract the violet which is absolutely fine by me, albeit rather amusing.
The middle notes are recorded as pink pepper, cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg. Once again the theme of cooked Italian food is still presence so I suppose they are at least consistent. In hindsight, I now begin to feel these scents when I go via my bottle so maybe it was just a matter of me not paying attention.
The base notes are more familiar to me and they include sandalwood and vetiver with musky notes. This really does make sense to me as a perfume now when I read about the base notes. The top notes are a bit new.
I love this perfume because it just does what you need when you are meeting people on a professional basis. It does not give the impression of being flashy but makes you believe that you have an air of sophisticated confidence. It is not too brush that it gets up people’s noses but yet it is noticeable enough to make a good impression. I would heartily recommend it.
