10 Corso Como
This is a new perfume from a relatively very young fashion house. Created by Olivier Gillotin (a rather unfortunate surname if you read about the French Revolution), 10 Corso Como comes as the latest in a long line of wonderful perfumes that have been created by this very diverse house. Let us just say that this is a very individual taste and you will either love it or hate it. I am not entirely sure that the combination of fragrance notes has worked as it should in this case.
The Brand
The Carla Sozzani company has done it all from Bread and Breakfast to shoes to perfumes. They are literally the jack of all trades. The brand is build around innovation and moving with the times. The rapid success of their product is reflected in product lines such as 10 Corso Como which hit the market and then generate quite a large number of sales within a short space of time.
The Fragrance
The fragrance has to be studied in some detail before identifying whether it is a good perfume or note. At the very first blush you get a sharp twang that is almost medicinal in its tone. As the perfume settles you start getting the first hint Oudh calms which is interwoven with a spicy sandalwood finish. You therefore end much better than you started with this perfume. This is a rather complicated perfume and it requires an advanced palate to get to the core of its advantages.
The Packaging
Now I have to tell you that I absolutely hate this packaging. I do not hate it because it is bad per say but because it does not remind me of a perfume. It looks a bit like legal or some designs from IKEA (not say that IKEA designs are not good). It just does not seem to me like genuine perfume marketing. I understand the need to experiment with modern clean lines but this is beyond the pale.
General Customer Feedback
The customer feedback on this perfume is just hilarious. One of the first people to comment during a blogging exercise accused it of having the smell of some bodily excretions. Others strongly disagreed with this analysis and said that they liked the spicy nature of the perfume. The general consensus was that you needed to let the perfume settle before you could really appreciate its better qualities.
